Seafood in Peanut Butter Sauce
If you remember from my Samal Island Escapade Post, I fell in love with their “Seafood in Peanut Butter Sauce” dish.So when I found myself some time to cook something from my kitchen (translation: brown-out from 8am to 1pm, hehe) I went out and headed straight to Cogon Public Market (ya know it’s always best to buy seafood from your local market than from the mall). Bought 6 pieces of small crabs, 1/4 kilo (large) Shrimps and 1/4 kilo of Squid.
So there I was ready to cook.. until I realized that I was too scared to to take out the ever alive crabs from the market bag. I was armed with a knife, thong and loads of fear just transferring those effin crabs. So anyway, I survived and got that freakin’ task over and done with.
Also, before leaving the market I found a stall where they were selling the ready to cook type of squid! But I guess my first time had to be the eeekyyy experience of removing its head and cleaning all the eeky stuff inside the squid, =/ weh.
So I had to boil the crabs and squid using soda. Why soda? Well, I’m not really a firm believer of the phrase Mom knows best but I guess this one gets my vote. Mommy would always cook crabs and shrimps using 7-up or Sprite and sprinkle it with salt. I don’t know why but it tastes so much better than just using water.
So moving on I sauteed the garlic, onion, and squid. When the squid was tender I added the eggplant, beans and peanut butter!

Drained the Crabs and freed them from their bondage, hehe.

Placed them all in a plate.. and added my Peanut Butter Sauce! Yumm!
I’m glad it turned out good because I didn’t have any recipe for this. Now I’m hungry again.. excuse me while I look for any leftovers *winks.

Chicken Pops
I was in the mood to prepare something for dinner. Why? Brown-out again 1pm-6pm. I didn’t want my afternoon to go to waste so I went to the nearest Meat Shop and bought Half Kilo of Chicken Wings. I watched a YouTube vid on how to prepare Chicken Lollipops. It was quite easy and it turned out to be a winner.

By the way, I made the sauce myself! Sugar, vinegar, cornstarch, and ketchup to color. Yumm! Are you hungry now?
